Cory joined Associated in 2026 as Agency Development Manager, where he supports business operations, underwriting, risk management, and loss control while working to elevate the client experience across the agency. His technical focuses are on contracting, trucking, and forest products, three of the more demanding classes in the Pacific Northwest.
Cory brought 14 years of insurance experience to Associated, including over a decade on the underwriting side of the table, a perspective that shapes how he approaches every risk. He began his career in sales with State Farm before moving into commercial underwriting, most recently serving as a Senior Commercial Field Underwriter at Acuity Insurance, covering Idaho, Eastern Oregon, and Northwest Montana.
Cory’s wide-ranging experience gives him an uncommon read on how risks are evaluated, priced, and placed. He holds the Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) and Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designations, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University.
Cory split his childhood between Wisconsin and Ethiopia, where his family served as missionaries, and has since lived in Oklahoma and Idaho. He and his wife have four daughters, including a set of identical twins, which makes him, by his own count, outnumbered five to one. Outside the office he enjoys the Idaho outdoors and gives back by serving several non-profits in the Treasure Valley.
