FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – BOISE, Idaho, 5/28/2024 – Associated Insurance Services, an Idaho owned-and-operated independent insurance and risk management firm, announced today the hiring of Hilary Lombardo as managing broker of its employee benefits department. Ms. Lombardo brings fourteen years of experience in the insurance industry to her new position, including eight years at PayneWest Insurance, which was acquired by Marsh McLennan Agency, in 2021.
Ms. Lombardo said, “I look forward to helping Associated expand and enhance its employee benefits division. As a locally owned and operated agency, I was immediately drawn to the organization’s culture and values. I appreciate the agency’s deep Idaho roots and commitment to independence.”
As Associated Insurance Services prepares to mark its 20th anniversary in 2025, its leadership team recognized a golden opportunity in Ms. Lombardo.

Founded in 2005 by a group of Idaho logging contractors, Associated Insurance Services manages commercial insurance for over seventy percent of the state’s loggers and log truckers. In addition, the agency also has concentrations in the construction, manufacturing, real estate, bar, and restaurant industries, and notoriety for its service-over-profit model, which intentionally produces single-digit profit margins. The agency invests in improving the client and employee experiences with better tools, technology, compensation, and benefits for team members.
Ms. Lombardo holds a Bachelor’s degree in sports management and business from Northwest Nazarene University and a Master’s degree in physical education and athletic administration from Idaho State University. As a former college athlete, having played women’s soccer at NNU, Ms. Lombardo thrives in team environments and around others with growth mindsets. Her well-honed strategy and leadership skills are well suited to help take Associated Insurance Services to the next level.
